  • GEAR SHIFT – Shift into 2nd gear while turning or before turning to avoid high speed in the turn.
  • GEAR OPERATION – Follow the gearbox drawing for gear changes.
  • GEAR SHIFT – Make smooth and slow movements with the gear stick. USE A LOOSE HAND.
  • GEAR SHIFT – Avoid violent or late gear changes (shift between 2nd and 3rd revolutions).
  • GEAR SHIFT – Press the clutch all the way down first and then shift gears.
  • GEAR SHIFT – Adjust gear as soon as you DECREASE to the following speeds:
  • Below 10 km/h = 1st gear. (Don’t be in first gear until you’ve almost stopped).
  • GEAR SHIFT – Remember to mentally adjust gears (anticipate which gear you should be in).
  • MERGING – Be aware of signs, lane markings that end or narrow, so remember to look over your shoulder before merging.
  • POSITIONING – Always position yourself in the right lane if driving straight, unless you have a reason to be in the left lane.
  • LANE CHANGE – Avoid changing lanes at an intersection or before the intersection where there is a barrier line.
  • ORIENTATION – Remember Mirror, mirror, shoulder before changing lanes or changing the direction of your car.
  • RIGHT TURN – Short turn, remember to follow the curb around to the right to avoid wide turns.
  • LEFT TURN – Slightly larger turn, direct the car towards the center of the left lane or the center line.
  • TURN – Follow the curved edge softly and constantly observe where the curved edge starts and turn accordingly.
  • OVERVIEW OF BOARDS – Look at all boards, especially regarding speed, merging and lane changes.
  • CLUTCH OPERATION – Find the clutch point before you hit the gas and don’t release the clutch completely. Use the heel to lift the clutch.
  • CLUTCH OPERATION – Do not release too quickly.
  • CLUTCH – Remove your foot from the clutch if you are not using it.
  • OVERVIEW – Regarding the number of lanes, speeds, boards, obstacles, right of way, etc. THINK and look AHEAD 8 – 12 SECONDS.

TOURS:

  • Always use 2nd gear, brake down to 15-20 km/h and release the clutch before entering the roundabout. Remember to look for other vehicles, as you have the right of way at the roundabout.
  • STEERING WHEEL STEERING – Use both hands when turning the steering wheel and KEEP A LOOSE GRIP.
  • RIGHT HAND RULE – Keep a speed of 10-15 km/h (or possibly 1st gear), keep your foot on the brake, and remember to look both right and left.
  • UNCONDITIONAL YIELD – Stop completely if you cannot assess cross traffic in advance and visibility is not clear. Consider your location within the intersection and find the correct location.
  • ONE WAY ROAD – Keep left if you need to turn left.
  • PEDESTRIANS – Stop for pedestrians crossing or about to cross the crosswalk. Observe the situation in advance.
  • BLOCK – Do not block cyclists or motorists while waiting to turn or start driving.
  • BUSES – Watch for buses at a bus stop as they start or drop off passengers. We have to give way to them if it is a densely built-up area and the bus is on the route.
  • SPEED CONTROL – Regularly monitor the speed limit.
  • DISTANCE – Keep a safe distance from parked cars, cyclists or the curb.
  • SPEED – Accelerate a little faster or move away from the car behind.
  • BRAKING – Brake down from a speed above 30 km/h without the clutch and engage the clutch gradually.
  • BRAKING – Apply light pressure to the brake instead of pressing harder at the last minute. REMEMBER to brake in good time.
  • MOTORWAY:
  • Always use your turn signal when changing lanes or merging from an oncoming lane.
  • The speed on the approach lane must reach 110 km/h as soon as possible, unless there are cars in your lane or in the lane you are merging into.
  • Do not cross braid lines.
  • Monitor the speed regularly.

Exit from the motorway:
  • Brake when entering the exit ramp and not the motorway.
  • Remember to be aware of others on the approach lane and help them merge onto the motorway. This applies when you take the exit from the motorway and others enter the motorway.
  • Keep a distance of 2 seconds from the vehicle in front.
  • Overtake slower vehicles if necessary.
RIGHT OR LEFT TURN: Check your surroundings before signaling. It should be done at the earliest when you are facing the road before turning, or 50-100 meters before.

Remember before and during SWING:
  • Orientation -> Signal -> Brake -> Location -> 2. Adapt Gear -> Orientation -> Release the brake pedal -> Lift the clutch -> Turn -> Apply moderate pressure on the accelerator.
  • REMEMBER TO NOTE THE COLOR AND TYPE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS, THE NUMBER OF LANES ON THE NEW ROAD AND THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE NEW ROAD IN ADVANCE.
RIGHT TURN:
  • If you can turn right away, follow these steps:
  • Shift into 2nd gear as soon as you give the signal, only if it is possible to turn immediately.
  • Check over your shoulder 10 meters before turning.
  • Always use the right lane in a two-lane turn unless you have a reason to be in the left turn.
  • Screen for cyclists if there is no cycle lane, and do so at low speed, regardless of whether the light is green or red.
  • Hold the brake pedal down until you are ready to turn.
  • Watch the color and type of traffic signal as you approach.
  • Remember to place yourself in the correct lane on the new road.
  • If you can’t turn right away, follow these steps:
  • Brake the car before the stop line or at the intersection.
  • Assess the new road for location, number of lanes, obstacles and speed.
  • Stay far right along the curb if there are no turning lanes.
  • Turn only when pedestrians and cyclists have cleared the road.
  • Once you’ve decided to turn, focus on the new path.
  • Check over your shoulder before turning.
  • Screen for cyclists if there is no cycle lane, and do so at low speed, regardless of whether the light is green or red.
  • Position yourself at the intersection and look at the new road to assess positioning relative to the new road.

LEFT TURN:

  • If you can turn right away, follow these steps:
  • Enter the turn very slowly and exit it quickly.
  • Shift into 2nd gear as soon as you give the signal, only if it is possible to turn immediately.
  • Check over your shoulder 10 meters before turning.
  • Always use the right lane in a two-lane turn unless you have a reason to be in the left turn.
  • Hold the brake pedal down until you are ready to turn.
  • Remember to place yourself in the correct lane on the new road.
