Name: ____________________ Remember to bring it with you every time you drive.

GEAR CHANGE – Shift to 2nd gear while turning or before turning to avoid high speed in the turn.
GEAR CONTROL– Follow the gearbox diagram for gear shifts.
GEAR CHANGE – Perform smooth and slow movements with the gear lever. USE A LOOSE HAND.
GEAR CHANGE – Avoid violent or late gear shifts (shift between 2nd and 3rd revolution).
GEAR CHANGE – Depress the clutch all the way down first, and then shift gears.
GEAR CHANGE – Adjust the gears as soon as you REDUCE SPEED to the following speeds:
Under 10 km/h = 1st gear. (Don’t be in first gear until you’re almost stopped).
GEAR CHANGE – Remember gear adjustment mentally (anticipate which gear you should be in).
MERGING – Pay attention to signs, lane lines ending, or narrowing, so remember to check over your shoulder before merging.
POSITIONING – Always position yourself in the right lane if you’re going straight, unless you have a reason to be in the left lane.
LANE CHANGE – Avoid changing lanes at an intersection or before the intersection where there is a solid line.
ORIENTATIONS – Remember to check over your shoulder before changing lanes or changing the direction of your car.
RIGHT TURN – Short turn, remember to follow the curb around to the right to avoid wide turns.
LEFT TURN – Slightly larger turn, aim the car toward the center of the left lane or the middle lane line.
TURNS – Follow the curved edge softly and continuous steering. Constantly observe where the curved edge starts and turn accordingly.
SIGN OVERVIEW – Look at all signs, especially regarding speed, merging, and lane changing
CLUTCH USAGE – Find the clutch’s engagement point before applying gas, and don’t release the clutch completely. Use your heel to lift the clutch.
CLUTCH USAGE – Don’t release it too quickly.
CLUTCH – Remove your foot from it if you’re not using it.
OVERVIEW – Regarding the number of lanes, speeds, signs, obstacles, right-of-way, etc. THINK and look AHEAD 8 – 12 SECONDS.

ROUNDABOUTS :
Always use 2nd gear, brake down to 15-20 km/h, and lift the clutch before entering the roundabout. Remember to check for other vehicles, as you got give way duty in roundabout.

STEERING WHEEL CONTROL- Use both hands when turning the steering wheel and KEEP A LOOSE GRIP.
RIGHT HAND GIVE WAY DUTY – Maintain a speed of 10-15 km/h (or possibly 1st gear), keep your foot on the brake, and remember to check both the right and left sides.
ABSOLUTE GIVE WAY DUTY – Come to a complete stop if you cannot assess cross traffic in advance and the view is not clear. Consider your positioning within the intersection and find the correct placement.
ONE-WAY ROAD – Keep to the far left if you need to turn left.
PEDESTRIANS – Stop for pedestrians who are crossing or about to enter the pedestrian crosswalk. Observe the situation in advance.

BLOCKAGE – Do not obstruct the passage of cyclists or motorists while waiting to turn or start moving.

BUSES – Keep an eye on buses at a busstop while it starts or drops off passengers. We have to give way if its bulit up area and bus is on the route.
SPEED CHECK – Regularly monitor the speed limit.
DISTANCE – Maintain a safe distance from parked cars, cyclists, or the curb.
SPEED – Accelerate a little faster or move away from the car behind you.
BRAKING – Brake any speed over 30 km/h without clutch and then engage the clutch gradually.
BRAKING – Apply gentle pressure at the end instead of applying more pressure at the last moment. REMEMBER to brake well in advance.

MOTORWAY:
Always signal when changing lanes or merging from an on-ramp. (merging from slip road)
The speed on the on-ramp ( slip road ) should reach 110 km/h as quickly as possible unless there are cars on your lane or on the lane you need to merge into.
Do not cross merging lines.

Regularly monitor the speed.

Exit on the motorway:
Brake when entering the off-ramp ( slip road) and not on the motorway.
Remember to be aware of others on the on-ramp ( slip track ) and help them merge onto the highway. Its in case when you take exit of the motorway and other traffic is on slip track towards motorway.
Maintain a distance of 2 seconds from the vehicle ahead.
Overtake slower vehicles if necessary.

RIGHT OR LEFT TURN:
Check your surroundings before signaling. It should be done earliest when facing the road before your turn or 50-100 meters before.
Enter the turning lane as soon as possible, considering cyclists or parked cars in the turning lane.

REMEMBER THE RULES FOR TURNS:
Orientation -> Signal -> Brake -> Positioning -> 2. Adjust Gear -> Orientation -> Release the brake -> Lift the clutch -> Turn -> Apply moderate pressure on the gaspedal.
REMEMBER TO TAKE NOTE OF THE COLOR & TYPE OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS, NUMBER OF LANES ON THE NEW ROAD, AND SPEED LIMIT ON THE NEW ROAD IN ADVANCE.

FOR RIGHT TURNS:
If you can make the turn immediately, follow these steps:
Shift to 2nd gear as soon as you signal, only if it’s possible to turn immediately.
Check over your shoulder 10 meters before turning.
Always use the right lane in a two-lane turning lane, unless you have a reason to be in the left turning lane.

Screen off cyclists if there is no bike lane, and do it at a slow speed, regardless of whether the light is green or red.

Hold the brake pressed until you are ready to turn.

Keep an eye on the color and type of the traffic signal while approaching.
Remember to position yourself in the correct lane on the new road.
If you cannot turn immediately, follow these steps:
Brake the car before the stop line or in the intersection.
Assess the new road for positioning, number of lanes, obstacles, and speed.
Stay furthest to the right along the curb if there are no turning lanes.
Only turn when pedestrians and cyclists have cleared the way.
Once you have decided to turn, focus on the new road.
Check over your shoulder before turning.
Screen off cyclists if there is no bike lane, and do it at a slow speed, regardless of whether the light is green or red.

Position yourself in the intersection, look at your new road for positioning relative to the new road.

LEFT TURN:
If you can make the turn immediately, follow these steps:
Enter the turn very slowly and exit quickly.
Shift to 2nd gear as soon as you signal, only if it’s possible to turn immediately.
Check over your shoulder 10 meters before turning.
Always use the right lane in a two-lane turning lane, unless you have a reason to be in the left turning lane.
Keep the brake pressed until you are ready to turn.
Remember to position yourself in the correct lane on the new road.
Keep the brake pressed until you are ready to turn.
If you cannot turn immediately, follow these steps:
Brake the car before the stop line or in the intersection.
Position yourself in the intersection, focusing on the positioning relative to the new lane and not on oncoming traffic.
Stay furthest to the left along the left boundary line if there are no turning lanes.
Only turn when there is no oncoming traffic, pedestrians, or cyclists.
Take a comprehensive overview of the new road regarding positioning, lanes, obstacles, and speed.

Pay attention to directional arrows. (Do not hesitate, proceed with the turn.)
Once you have decided to turn, focus on the new road.
Keep an eye on the color and type of the traffic signal while approaching.

Check over your shoulder before turning.
